ZnS(Zinc Sulfide)

Standard ZnS, produced via the Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) technique, is an excellent material for windows and domes in long-wave infrared imaging systems for military applications, owing to its high transmission, excellent optical uniformity, and high mechanical strength. As an infrared optical material, ZnS transmits from visible wavelengths to just over 12μm . It can be fabricated in planar form as an optical window or shaped into lenses.
