Plano-Concave Lenses

A plano-concave lens consists of one plane surface and one concave spherical surface, and has a negative focal length. It can diverge a collimated incident beam and only form a virtual image observable through the lens. This lens is often used for beam expansion, increasing the optical path of a system, and canceling out the aberrations generated by other lenses in the system.
